Habitat Shanghai Office Receives Registration Certificate of a Representative Office of an Overseas Non-Governmental Organization

On 27th April, Habitat for Humanity Hong Kong Ltd. Shanghai Representative Office received the Registration Certificate of a Representative Office of an Overseas Non-Governmental Organization issued by Overseas Non-Government Organization Management Office of Shanghai Public Security Bureau.

Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau is the organization in charge of operations for Habitat for Humanity Hong Kong Ltd. Shanghai Representative Office. Shanghai Rep Offices area of activity includes: Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Guangdong and Guangxi.

Last June and July, Habitat for Humanity Hong Kong Ltd. Sichuan and Yunnan Representative Office also received the Registration Certificate respectively, aiming to provide support and services to local low-income families with urgent housing needs.

Habitat will conduct the activities in accordance with law and keep improving our capacity to serve as many families as we can.”

Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began its operation in China since 2002. Anchored by the conviction that safe and affordable housing provides a critical foundation for breaking the poverty cycle, Habitat has supported more than 11,000 rural and urban low-income families to obtain a safe, healthy and decent home. Its programs have spread in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Sichuan, Shanghai, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Henan and Hong Kong.

In the future, Rep Offices of Habitat for Humanity Hong Kong Ltd in Shanghai, Yunnan and Sichuan will keep focusing on housing issues and operates a various of programs related to disaster prevention, disaster reduction and disaster relief. Currently, our main programs include: Rural Reconstruction Program, Water and Sanitation Project, Urban Renovation Project, Campus Refurbishment Project, Disaster Response and Volunteer program such as Habitat Young Leaders Build.
